The best advice I ever got about making smoother turns on a unicycle was to think about how a penny rolls on its side. As long as it’s straight up and down, it will keep rolling straight, but as soon as it leans to one side or the other, it will roll in that direction.
I picture this literally every time i make a wide turn, whether its on the trails or out on the road. It still takes practice, but if you can think about that rolling coin as you lean into a turn, you will become aware of the tweaks you need to make in your body posture and positions to get the position and angle of the wheel right
